Smart Material Bin and Automatic Feeding System
For machining production lines we provide automatic storage and feeding solutions for blanks, semi-finished products and finished products, covering incoming material warehousing, order-based outbound, lift feeding, visual positioning, line conveying and finished-work return, working with WMS management to digitize the full material flow of the production line.
Solution Overview
Automatic storage and feeding solutions for blanks, semi-finished products and finished products on machining lines
The smart material bin and automatic feeding system provides automatic storage and feeding of blanks, semi-finished products and finished products for machining production lines, covering an 8-step closed loop of "incoming material warehousing — outbound by order — lift feeding — vision positioning — line conveyance — machining position — return on completion — finished product warehousing". Three types of storage are available: multi-layer material bins, pallet stores and turnover box stores, with layer height and pallet type configured according to workpiece form; WMS manages inventory and the outbound sequence, schedules feeding by work order and matches the production line cycle time, with material shortage warning and automatic refilling. Two conveying methods are available, line conveyance and truss handling, and the system can be interlocked with MES.
For machining production lines, we provide an automated storage and feeding solution for blanks, semi-finished products and finished products, replacing manual handling and material management.
The complete process is: Incoming material inbound → order-based outbound → lift feeding → vision positioning → line conveying → machining station → return after completion → finished product inbound; combined with WMS management, it digitizes the entire material flow on the production line.

Critical Stages
Bin Management and the Feeding Line Determine the Material Efficiency of the Production Line

Multi-Level Material Bin Management
The material bin's shelf height and tray format are configured according to workpiece shape, the WMS manages inventory and retrieval sequence, and feeding is scheduled automatically to match the line cycle time.
- Multi-level material bins configured by workpiece form
- WMS manages inventory and outbound sequence
- Feeding cycle time matched to line demand
- Shortage alerts and automatic replenishment

Flexible Feeding Line
The line conveys workpieces from the material bin to the machining station and returns them automatically after processing, closing the material loop on the production line.
- The conveyor line links material bins and machining positions
- Visual positioning confirms the orientation of workpieces leaving the bin
- Automatically returns to the material bin or the next process step when finished
- Can interlock with MES to manage material flow

Common Question
Common Questions About Smart Material Bins and Automatic Feeding Systems
What types of material bins are available?
3 material storage formats: Multi-Layer Material Bin, pallet storage, Tote Box Storage. The material bin's shelf height and tray type are configured to the workpiece shape, and feeding is scheduled automatically to match the line cycle time.
How does feeding match the line cycle time?
By Work Order Scheduling and feeding, with the feeding cycle time matching production line requirements, plus buffering and queue management, material shortage warnings and automatic replenishment. The solution is organized around 4 scheduling dimensions: work order, process step, cycle time, inventory.
How Is Inventory Managed?
By WMS manages inventory and outbound sequence, and schedules feeding automatically in line with line cycle time, achieving a closed loop across the whole material flow from incoming material warehousing to finished product warehousing.
What conveying methods are available?
2 types: Conveyor Line Transport and Gantry Handling. The line conveys workpieces from the material bin to the machining position and returns them automatically when machining is complete, with finished products classified and put into storage; material flow can be managed in interlocking with MES.
How is workpiece orientation confirmed after retrieval?
After leaving the bin, workpieces undergo Vision Positioning Confirm position and orientation, then work with the line's conveying; abnormal workpieces are rejected and an alarm is raised.
